Kaibutsu Oujo ch 43 script, viruses, plumbers in spaces, futures, sins and punishments, and the like

Cyber Blue will have to wait just a bit longer; the weekly KO script is more pressing

Anyways, more zombies on KO this chapter. The author really should distinguish between the infectious zombies, corpse zombies, ghouls, etc.

Kaibutsu Oujo ch 43 English script

Error: "Toryoction" is supposed to be Trioxin. Hey, I'm not a zombie buff.

And "cemetary" is spelled "cemetery". That's pretty big too. Looks like I should use spell check

On a related note, FTH is looking for proofreaders (totally not related to my half-broken English, what are you talking about) and editors/typesetters/cleaners. Apply now!

This release - well, it's technically not a release, but it counts for the rules (only 3 volumes, must finish volume, 1-3 days) - was cutting it close, because of reasons ranging from virus attack to U R MR GAY 2.

Virus & PSD Sources

First, my stupidity has increased a notch. I knew that it was a virus, and wanted to run it sandboxed to see what it does. Unfortunately, I didn't do so, and neglected to kill the virus until it destroyed my anime collection and part of my scanlation stuff. I can always recover the releases and raws, but Cyber Blue 1 and 2 psd sources are gone. While it won't hinder any future scanlating, in the future, I'll upload the psd sources after the volume finishes. Maybe I'll upload it chapter-by-chapter in the future, I don't know.

Pokemon Special vol 34 English scanlation psd source
Hanako vol 3 psd source
Hanako vol 4 psd source

Besides, if anyone wants to translate them to another language, you can base your scanlation off of mine, no problem. My job is to translate manga, and if I can easily help someone indirectly, that's all the better.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Second, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is pretty great. I don't feel like it's 10/10 great as of a few worlds in, but that could change. I was also procrastinating KO43 script by wasting my time on tagging the music I ripped from the ISO, which you can enjoy here. I'm still not done tagging it, though.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Gamerip (320 kbps mp3)

Edit: Note that it isn't a complete rip; I forgot to separate the multitrack files.

It's mp3 because the FLAC files add up to 1GB.

Future

Anyways, the outlook of /a/non scanlations seems to be mostly Cyber Blue 2 and 3, and Pokemon Special 35 until I leave for vacation. Sorry about Cyber Blue 4, I'll get to it eventually. I'll either still be doing KO scripts during the vacation (one a week isn't bad), or stock up on it before July. Furthermore, because of DerpScans' backissue-buying antics, I'm not going to do Mudazumo 4. I'll scan it nonetheless for others to translate.

I wanted to do Gyakuten Saiban / Ace Attorney manga, but I could only find shitty raws. This time, I'll let Del Rey do it. I may have horrible English, Japanese, and even Chinese, I may be horrible at editing and typesetting, but I'm not going to release raws that look shitty already.

It looks like I'll be picking up the one-volume Sin and Punishment (Tsumi to Batsu) manga, just to piss off Nintendo more. I'll probably be doing only editing, since there's no furigana on the raw (well, I can use the IME pad, but that's so slow) and no Chinese scanlation either. If the translator makes it through, I'll be able to do it before July, otherwise I'll have to wait.

Sin And Punishment vol 1 raws

After July, August will still have a shaky schedule. I might still suspend scanlations until orientation is over. September will still be irregular, but things will get back to normal once I get used to my new school and daily schedule.

That's all for now.

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 19, vol 4

Well, that's the end of it. I thought it wasn't a very clean ending when I first read it, but your mileage may vary.

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 19

Volume release has no changes

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera vol 4

This is probably the only series I done that doesn't have a good related work to keep on feeding the addiction-
  1. Mudazumo -> Any GAR series
  2. MN Paradox -> MN, MN Mosaic
  3. Nanako&! -> Yotsuba&!
  4. Cyber Blue -> HnK
  5. Kaibutsu Oujo -> Hellsing, Ga-Rei Zero
-until Maigo picked up Tasogare. It's Hanako with your tradition ghosts. Just replace Hanako with Yuuko and Asou with Teiichi, and you're halfway there.

From the current chapters released (14 in Japanese/Chinese), the cases are dragged on longer, but at least Maybe is a much better artist than Esuno. Seriously, Esuno has drawn 2500+ pages for 6 years, and he still uses the same faces.

Anyways, from Maigo's current pace, it seems that they can't wait to drop Ga-Rei, er, it seems that they can't wait to translate more chapters, so I recommend Tasogare as a replacement for Hanako.

In other news, PokeSpe v34 c375 will definitely be released tomorrow. I'll sacrifice my one-week lead on FTH, and do KO 42 script next week.

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 18

Chapter done ahead of schedule; the ending continues with some Mirai Nikki-esque plot twists. I wonder why Akise's decapitation isn't as violent as Mafuyu's

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 17

The endgame begins. Not much this chapter, just starting to wrap things up.

In other news, this is the second chapter I produced in CS5, the first being Cyber Blue 11. Adobe is going to put typesetters out of work someday, seriously, with a few minor but important typesetting tweaks, like automatically hyphenating words. Content-aware fill isn't a magic bullet, though, but that's probably because I'm not used to it.

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 16

Here's the flashback chapter on how Asou and Hanako met. I was listening to this song while scanlating it, and thought it was quite appropriate:

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 15

This chapter concludes the Mary arc. The rest of the series doesn't quite match up, in my opinion. The last boss was somewhat of a cop-out (hint: she's not a Nukekubi), and just didn't have the mystery of this arc. Plus, we get to see a proto-Yuno in Nozomi.

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 15

Speaking of Yuno, she's done it again in the MN 51. I don't have the raw, and probably no one is going to have the raw for some time (at most until volume 11 is released in September with the pilot episode). According to (what I can understand of) 2ch, the death was pretty brutal (throat slit, chest cut open, head bounced off). That makes me want to read it more!

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 14, vol 3

Here's the exciting solution to the Mary allegory. Only Hanako or House + X Files (that sounds awesome) could possibly have such a bizarre mystery.

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 14

Volume release is out; changes include changing the color pages to JPEG, because the nonexistent quality boost isn't worth 10MB. This change will be applied to all future release, provided that I remember to do it.

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera vol 3

Edit: Oh, and yea, the next volume to replace Hanako 3 is Hanako 4

Speaking of volumes, Pokemon Special 34 just arrived; I'll be destroying, er, scanning it today, if I can find where the hell that dirty spot in the top right corner came from.

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 13

This arc represents everything I love about Hanako to Guuwa. Supernatural, mysterious, and a bit scary (at least more than the last few). Enjoy this while you can, because the endgame is wimpy.

If you just played Ace Attorney Investigations, then you'll probably be familiar with the premise of this case. It seems that butterflies and flowers always represent bilateral symmetry. It's way more clever than AAI's last case, though, because this case is something that only this manga and its premise can do. Just a hint: connect "bilateral symmetry" and "Kanae's father and mother built the house for her birth".

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 12

This is the last normal chapter of Hanako. After this, it's 3 chapters of Mary, a flashback, and then the 3-chapter endgame.

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 12

I also realized that the title for this chapter may have been a bit off. It should be "Red Paper, Blue Paper", not "Red and Blue Paper". Here are the fixed pages if you can't wait for the volume release.

This chapter is...stupid, so I thought I would get rid of it fast

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera ch 10

Continuing our tour of dropped manga, here's Hanako to Guuwa no Tera. Many of you might recognize those faces, and for a good reason. The author of Hanako is Sakae "3-faces" Esuno, the author of Mirai Nikki. This is his first manga. Unfortunately, there's no yandere in Hanako, which is why it ended after 4 volumes.

MangaUpdates
MangaFox

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera focuses on "Folklore Detective" Asou Daisuke, who specializes in supernatural cases involving allegories, urban legends, etc. Hanako is his loli allegory companion, who can warp through toilets, and Kanae is his love interest/secretary whose life he saves in the first chapter.

Edit: Also, I finally claimed a generous donation given by a kind Danish anon. It's $51 after fees. I would like to import some volumes (Mudazumo vol 4, Genkaku Picasso vol 2), but the overhead for shipping on Amazon jp is ¥3000. If you are or you know a scanlator who wants to import another volume (Pokemon Special, I'm looking at you), I would be willing to split shipping costs.

I don't have (nor never needed) a credit card, though, so you'll be handling the purchase.

I feel a bit sheepish for accepting the donation for restarting KO translations, since KO 36 is delayed "b/c of Kampfer", according to the editor
